This move aligns with Earth Day 2023’s theme, “Invest In Our Planet”, which highlights the importance of dedicating our time, resources, and energy to solving climate change and other environmental issues. Mike Greeff, our CEO, said, “As a proudly South African real estate company and a global affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, we are delighted to do our part by investing in a sustainable future, with the added benefit of lowering our carbon footprint and reducing pressure on the national grid.” Loadshedding has been a significant challenge, with unconfirmed Stage 8 power cuts recently affecting households and businesses, further highlighting the need for a move towards sustainable energy sources to reduce reliance on Eskom and prevent such occurrences in the future. Lately, the government and the City of Cape Town have been [encouraging homeowners and businesses](https://www.greeff.co.za/news/steady-shift-to-solar/)to invest in solar PV systems. With benefits including tax incentives, the city's willingness to buy solar-generated electricity from independent suppliers, and the positive impact on the environment and the economy, a shift toward sustainable energy offers clear advantages. Tim Greeff, our Sales Director, added, “Our hope is that our actions inspire other companies to take similar steps, not only easing the effects of loadshedding on South Africans and the economy but contributing to a greener world as well.” Tags: [cape town](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/cape-town), [Real Estate](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/real-estate), [Real Estate Agents](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/real-estate-agents), [Selling Guide](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/selling-guide), [Greeff Christie's International Real Estate](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/greeff-christies-international-real-estate), [Greeff Properties](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/greeff-properties), [Investment](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/investment), [Lifestyle](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/lifestyle), [Western Cape](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/western-cape), [Sustainability](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/sustainability), [Loadshedding](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/loadshedding), [Future Living](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/future-living), [Solar Power](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/solar-power), [Earth Day](https://blog.greeff.co.za/tag/earth-day) ### Join our Newsletter © Copyright Greeff Properties Join our Newsletter
